One of the newest additions to facial cosmetic surgery is the laser. Its concentrated beam of light can be used to reduce wrinkles around the lips, eyes, or even the entire face. Sun damage can be reduced and a smoother, fresher overall skin surface can be achieved. Scars and acne pocks can also be minimized.
Dr. Anderson has used Skin resurfacing lasers since they became available for skin resurfacing and keeps updated on recent developments to recommend the best type of laser treatment for each patient. During consultation, skin color, age, elasticity and other factors are analyzed to determine the most viable procedure for areas to be treated.
Laser Surgeries are performed in Dr. Anderson's surgical suite which is AAAHC accredited to help assure maximum safety and hygiene.
Depending on the areas to be treated, local anesthesia, or IV sedation plus local anesthesia may be used. Patients may be driven home the same day after surgery. Dressings are applied which are removed at the follow-up exam in a day or two. Swelling, redness and irritation can be reduced with cold compresses.
The final result of laser resurfacing may not be apparent for several months. Individual healing times may vary, but most patients are back to work in a week. Make-up can be used after a week to cover any remaining redness. Most patients are extremely happy with the reduction in wrinkling, the smoothing and freshening of skin tone, and the general rejuvenated appearance of the skin.
Dr. Anderson has done many thousands of facial surgeries. If you have been considering a change, trust the experience of Dr. Stephen B. Anderson
