Some of the most obvious signs of aging are the wrinkling and furrowing and the drooping of the brow area. Face and eye lifts do little to improve this major area of the face. Fortunately, the Forehead Lift, or Browlift is available and is often performed at the same time as a face or eye lift. Both men and women can benefit from a forehead lift.
Many advances have recently been made in forehead surgery. During the patient's consultation, Dr. Anderson will determine which type of forehead lift is indicated. Depending on each individual's situation, incisions can be placed at, or behind the hairline. If the patient has a receding hairline, the incision is made in mid-forehead or just above the brow.
Excess skin is removed, smoothing the forehead and lifting the sagging brow. Fine sutures and sometimes bandages are then applied.
During recovery, the head must be elevated during sleep. Bruising and swelling can be reduced with cold compresses. Sutures are removed in the office 7 to 10 days after surgery. Bandages, if used, come off in 1 to 3 days.
Results from a forehead lift vary with each individual case. Generally, a smoother, more youthful appearance is achieved with diminished forehead lines. The elevation of the brows decreases the heaviness and folds for a more rested, youthful look.
Dr. Anderson has done many thousands of facial surgeries. If you have been considering a change, trust the experience of Dr. Stephen B. Anderson
