The Facelift, or Rhytidectomy, offers a rejuventation of the aging face. Today more than ever, men and women are taking advantage of the face lift to achieve a more youthful appearance.
Dr. Anderson's area of specialization is cosmetic surgery of the face including face lifts. Over his twenty-plus years of experience, he has performed thousands of successful facial surgeries. Individual skin type, bone structure, age and skin elasticity are all carefully analyzed in consultations so Dr. Anderson can design each procedure for maximum improvement of each patient. Patients are placed under IV sedation in Dr. Anderson's own AAAHC accredited surgical suite for maximum hygienic safety. His skilled staff has been carefully selected for their expertise and caring manner.
Underlying muscle and connective tissue are repositioned and tightened. Excess skin is removed. For men, the incision is aligned with the beard line. In all cases, the incision is placed in natural creases of the skin to camouflage. The incisions are closed with fine sutures. A dressing is applied to protect the incisions. Patients may be driven home the same day by a family member or friend.
Although most patients report very little pain after surgery, medication will be prescribed. Some swelling and bruising are to be expected and may be minimized with cold compresses. Dressings will be removed at a follow-up examination in one to two days. All sutures are removed between five to ten days. Recovery usually takes about ten days.
The final result is a firmer, younger appearance to the midface and neck area. Though individual results may vary, patients report increased self-confidence in addition to the rejuvenating effects of their face lift.
